Abstract

This dossier dedicated to the Challenges of Teaching Languages aims to problematize issues related to the complex processes of teaching how to read languages, not just visual languages stricto sensu, but others such as sound, fashion, design, urban planning, mixed languages, such as audiovisual, or illustrated books and even verbal language, in close dialogue or in comparison with visuality. It consists of twelve articles from different areas of knowledge, theoretical approaches and institutions and also celebrates the collaboration between PPGAV, Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts of the State University of Santa Catarina/UDESC and GREPAI, Grup de Recerca in Education, Patrimoni i Arts Intermèdia, from the University of Girona/UdG.

Author Biographies

Sandra Regina Ramalho e Oliveira, Santa Catarina State University

Mestre em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul/UFRGS (1986), é Doutora em Comunicação e Semiótica pela PUC São Paulo (1998), com pós-doutoramento na França, em Semiótica Visual (2002). Pesquisadora atuante e professora aposentada da Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina/UDESC, atua na Graduação, no Mestrado e Doutorado em Artes Visuais como professora e orientadora. É membro do Grupo de Pesquisa Núcleo de Estudos Semióticos e Transdisciplinares/NEST - CNPq e, também, é membro da InSEA (International Society of Education through Art), da ABCA (Associação Brasileira de Críticos de Arte), da AICA (Association Internationale de Critiques dArt), da ISVS (International Association of Visual Semiotics), do CRICC (Centre de Recherche Images, Cultures et Cognitions) da Université Paris 1- Panthéon-Sorbonne. Pesquisa nas áreas de Semiótica Visual e Ensino de Arte, em escolas e espaços culturais.

Roser Juanola Terradellas, University of Girona

Mestre e licenciada em Belas Artes pela Universitat de Barcelona. Doutora em Filosofia e Letras e Ciências da Educação pela Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Professora da UAB e pesquisadora principal na pesquisa de Arte e Educação da Universitat de Girona (UdG).
