Abstract

The presence of plastic microfibers in the ocean is a complex problem that requires urgent solutions. Recent research has shown that one of the sources of these tiny particles is associated with synthetic fabrics intended for making clothes. Collecting them from aquatic environments is an almost impossible task. The solutions, per hour, depend on actions that minimize the emissions of these particles. This study brings together 2 proposals to better understand them and raise their pros and cons.

Graduated in Industrial Design at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), Master (1993) and Doctor (1997) in Production Engineering at Coppe, Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Engineering Research, at the Federal University of Rio of January. Visiting professor at Design for Sustaintability Program, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands (2010). Full Professor at the School of Engineering at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Professor of the permanent staff of the Doctorate in Design at UEMG (State University of Minas Gerais), the Doctorate in Technological and Biopharmaceutical Innovation and the Professional Master in Technological Innovation and Intellectual Property at UFMG. He has experience in the areas of Production Engineering and Design, with an emphasis on Product Design Methodology, working mainly on the following themes: Product Design, Design for Sustainability, Product Ergonomics and Computer Aided Design. Author of CAD books in Industry: Implementation and Management (Editora da UFRJ, 1997), Product Design (Campus / Elsevier, 2010) and Integrated Manufacturing Systems (Atlas, 2015). Rosangela Miriam Lemos Oliveira Mendonça, Federal University of Minas Gerais

He holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1986), a degree in Music from the Minas Gerais Art Foundation Aleijadinho (1985), a master's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1997) and a master's degree (MPhil) from the University of Strathclyde (1990) - Glasgow-Scotland. He was a researcher-collaborator at FUMSOFT - Sociedade Mineira de Software, professor-researcher in Ergonomics / Usability at the School of Design of the State University of Minas Gerais (ED-UEMG) and founding partner of ArquiCAD - Architecture, Technology and Culture and Sagarana43 Coworking . He has experience in computer graphics and multimedia working mainly on the following themes: three-dimensional modeling, computer vision for architectural reconstruction through computer stereo, documentation and process implementation. He specializes in the elaboration and management of cultural projects and in the management of IT projects. She works in the area of ​​quality in software process improvement, being an accredited consultant and evaluator MPS.BR (Brazilian Software Process Improvement). She is a member of the "Project Management Institute" (PMI) and accredited as "Project Management Professional" PMP. He completed a doctorate in Italy (Politecnico di Torino) in Production Systems and Industrial Design with the thesis "Systemic Network Innovation and its Application in the Brazilian Context of the Estrada Real - How to make ideas become a resource for Social Economic Improvement" analyzing cases of projects that aim at regional development, identifying its positive points and what can be increased in its efficiency, taking as a reference the Systemic Design methodology. It also developed, as an evolution of the "Business Model Canvas" (Osterwalder), the "Integral Endeavors" model in which companies are planned as part of a network, considering their economic, social and environmental sustainability. He was a member of the CEDTec - Center for Research and Development in Design and Technology at UEMG, and a member of the DESIS Network (World Social Innovation network) and of the Center for Studies, Theory, Research and Culture in Design (T&C Design) at UEMG. .Created Sagarana43, a coworking space in Belo Horizonte. She is currently a member of LeNSin ("the International Learning Network of networks on Sustainability"), the Environment Design Center (CEDA), LIDEP (Integrated Laboratory of Product Design and Engineering (Eng. Produção? UFMG) and Program coordinator Institutional Culture and Development (UEMG).
