Editorial Team of the Revista de Ensino em Artes, Moda e Design: Roles and Responsibilities

Editor-in-Chief
Ethical Responsibilities:
       1. Unbiased Evaluation: The Editor-in-Chief must assess submitted manuscripts impartially, without discrimination based on race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, regional affiliation, political or ideological stance, and should not be influenced by personal or commercial interests, in line with COPE's ethical guidelines.
       2. Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of all information regarding submitted manuscripts, shared only with reviewers and the editorial team, to maintain the integrity of the review and publication process.
       3. Final Decision on Publications: The Editor-in-Chief holds the final responsibility for publication decisions, applying clear and consistent criteria aligned with the journal's guidelines. While reviewer recommendations are considered, they are not binding.
       4. Ethical Use of Information: Do not use information from submitted manuscripts for personal research without the authors' explicit written consent.
       5. Conflict of Interest Management: Refrain from evaluating manuscripts when a conflict of interest exists, whether competitive, collaborative, or of another nature.
       6. Complaint Management: Receive and investigate complaints regarding ethical concerns or inaccuracies in submitted or published manuscripts, taking necessary corrective actions in accordance with COPE’s guidelines.

Managerial Responsibilities:
       1. Editorial Policy Development: Establish and periodically review the journal’s editorial policy in collaboration with the Editorial Board.
       2. Process Oversight: Manage the submission, peer review, and publication workflow through Open Journal Systems (OJS3) to ensure an efficient editorial process.
       3. Submission Management: Receive, log, organize, archive, and monitor all manuscripts under review or that have been accepted or rejected.
       4. Reviewer Assignment: Select and appoint suitable reviewers, including Board of Evaluators members and ad hoc reviewers, for manuscript evaluations.
       5. Similarity Verification: Conduct similarity checks on submitted articles using specialized software, providing reports to support decisions on originality.
       6. Communication and Liaison: Facilitate communication among authors, reviewers, and the editorial team, while also maintaining connections with other journals, higher education institutions, and funding agencies.

Editorial Board
       1. Policy Evaluation: Participate actively in reviewing the journal’s editorial policies, including scope, processes, and ethical standards.
       2. Recommendations for Improvement: Propose measures to enhance editorial processes and journal quality, aligning with COPE guidelines and standards of high-impact journals.
       3. Theme Selection Collaboration: Propose and review topics for special thematic issues.
       4. Article Acquisition: Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief in soliciting new submissions and author contributions.
       5. Scientific Quality Maintenance: Ensure the journal’s scientific quality and uphold ethical standards in all editorial activities.

Advisory Board
       1. Assurance of Scientific Quality: Uphold the scientific quality and editorial standards of the Journal of Teaching in Arts, Fashion, and Design.
       2. Thematic Dossier Proposals: Recommend thematic dossiers and potential contributors for upcoming issues.
       3. Journal Promotion: Actively promote the journal at scientific events and among peers to increase visibility and impact.
       4. Ad Hoc Review: Participate in ad hoc reviews upon request, supporting the editorial review process.

Supporting Editors
Supporting Editors assist the Editor-in-Chief in managing the journal’s processes.
       1. Process Management: Oversee the submission, review, and publication workflow through OJS3 to ensure a smooth editorial process.
       2. Submission Management: Receive, register, organize, archive, and track all manuscripts, including those under review and accepted/rejected.
       3. Formatting and Metadata Corrections: Verify and correct issue layouts, manage metadata accuracy, and assist in promoting and updating the journal’s social media presence.

Reviewers
Reviewers play a key role in selecting content for publication in the Revista de Ensino em Artes, Moda e Design, adhering to the journal’s ethical and quality standards.
       1. Qualified Professionals: Reviewers must be highly qualified professionals, preferably with doctoral degrees and substantial scientific experience within the journal’s scope.
       2. Critical Analysis: Carefully read, analyse, and provide a scientific assessment of submissions, adhering to the journal’s publication standards.
       3. Deadline Compliance: Adhere to established deadlines to maintain an efficient editorial workflow.
       4. Ad Hoc Reviews: Conduct ad hoc reviews upon request to aid in manuscript revisions.
