And in the different issues of the magazine there is a nominal list of reviewers who analyzed the articles and texts published in the respective issues.

Urdimento Editorial Team - roles and functions

Editor-in-Chief – Her functions are subdivided in ethical and managerial issues of Urdimento magazine/journal.

1. Ethical issues to be taken into consideration:

  1. Evaluate submitted manuscripts without regard to race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, regionality, political or ideological positioning and theoretical perspectives of the authors, and without being influenced by obtaining personal, commercial or revenue source advantages.
  2. Keep confidential all and any information about the submitted work, except in relation to the evaluators and the editorial team.
  3. Decide, in last instance, which works will be published, adopting as decision criteria the journal guidelines and norms and considering (but not being obliged to accept) the reviewers' evaluation.
  4. Not to use in their own research, without the express written consent of the authors, information contained in manuscripts submitted to the journal.
  5. Refuse to evaluate manuscripts in which there is a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative or other issues, through the editor's relationship with authors, companies or institutions linked to the manuscripts.
  6. To accept complaints about ethical aspects or incorrect content regarding submitted manuscripts or published papers. Taking the necessary measures, according to the recommendations of ABEC (Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors) for the treatment of complaints.

2. Managerial matters to be accomplished:

  • Set, together with the Assistant Editors and the Advisory and Editorial Boards, the Urdimento's editorial policy.
  • Manage the editorial procedures and the publication of the volumes through the Open Journal Systems (OJS3), controlling the flow of submissions made, the peer review of articles, the electronic dissemination after the release of the volumes, the text and layout edits.
  • Receive, register, organize, archive and control the flow of articles submitted, under evaluation and approved or rejected for publication.
  • Appoint referees, members of the Body of Reviewers/Evaluators or ad hoc, for the evaluation of manuscripts submitted to Urdimento.
  • To verify similarities in submitted articles when requested by the Editor(s)-in-Chief(s), by means of specific plagiarism checking software, making available a report to support decision making as to the originality and uniqueness of the text.
  • Assisting in sending files, as well as opinions or any communication related to the articles during the editorial process.
  • Forwarding the approved articles and controlling the flow during the text review, normalization, layout and publication processes.
  • Perform general administrative functions, such as preparing correspondence, providing information, among others.
  • Maintain contact with other academic journals, Higher Education Institutions and Promotion and Support Agencies for Scientific Publications for the dissemination of the journal..

Associate Editors

  1. Participate in reviews of the journal's editorial policy in terms of scope, editorial procedures, and issues related to ethics and integrity in research and scientific publication.
  2. To propose actions for the improvement of procedures, flows and instruments aiming at the improvement of processes and the growth of the Journal.
  3. To propose or analyze proposed themes for thematic issues/numbers.
  4. Appoint, together with the Editor-in-Chief, evaluators for Urdimento.
  5. Contribute, together with the Editor-in-Chief, to the editorial policy.
  6. To act, together with the Editor-in-Chief, in attracting new articles.
  7. Ensure the scientific quality of the journa.
  8. To strive for professional ethics in the different activities performed.
  9. Perform ad hoc evaluation when required.

Editorial Board

Group of people qualified to analyze and propose changes in the guidelines and the political-philosophical-editorial profile together with the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor.

  1. Contribute, together with the Editor(s)-in-Chief, to the editorial policy.
  2. To care for the scientific quality of the Journal.
  3. Analyze and present an opinion, once a year, through a specific form, about the different aspects of Urdimento as a journal in Performing Arts, pointing out corrections when necessary.
  4. Suggest thematic dossiers and their respective members for future issues of Urdimento.
  5. Disseminate the journal among its peers and in scientific events in its area of performance.
  6. Perform ad hoc evaluation when demanded.

Board of Reviewers

 They represent a group of people responsible for selecting the texts that should be published in Urdimento, which fit the magazine's editorial policy.

1. The reviewers should be professionals of recognized training and experience, preferably PhDs, from national or international higher education and/or research institutions, with significant scientific production in the journal's scope.

2. Read, analyze and present a scientific opinion, considering the guidelines defined in the norms for publication of the Journal.

3. To rigorously abide the deadlines established for the good functioning of the editorial process.
