Michael Schwab, Université de l'État de santa catarina

Artista e pesquisador artístico residente da cidade de Londres que investiga o uso pós conceitual da tecnologia em várias mídias incluindo fotografia, desenho, gravura e instalações artísticas. Mestre em filosofia pela Universidade de Hamburg, doutor em fotografia pelo Royal College of Art de Londres. Seu foco no doutoramento foi o pós conceitual e a pós fotografia e metodologia de pesquisa artística. Fundador e Editor Chefe do Journal for Artistic Research, JAR, co-editor do Intellectual Birdhouse. Prática Artística como Pesquisa. (2012). Co-editor da The Exposition of Artistic Research: Publishing Art in Academia (2013). Editor do livro Experimental Systems. Future Knowledge of Artistic Research (2015). Editor de Transpositions. Aesthetico-Epistemic Operators in Artistic Research. (2018). Seu livro mais recente, Futures of the Contemporary. Contemporaneity, Untimeliness, and Artistic Research, co-editado conjuntamente com Paulo de Assis foi publicado em 2019.  Focando a experimentação e a exposição da prática enquanto pesquisa, Schwab desenvolveu uma aproximação conceitual que faz um elo entre a liberdade artística e a crítica acadêmica em favor do que é conhecido como sendo a 'virada prática na teoria contemporânea', 'practice turn in contemporary theory'.
