Los títeres son del pueblo

Resumen: El presente texto es un relato de las experiencias iniciales como titiritero de Miguel Oyarzún en las poblaciones periféricas de Chile durante la dictadura (1973- 1990). Por medio de estas memorias accedemos a las vivencias que muestran el papel que desempeñó el artista junto a los activistas en defensa de la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. El texto apunta la capacidad del arte en la comunidad para la articulación social y la educación popular en tiempos de desamparo y prohibiciones. Además, muestra la función de los talleres comunitarios, que lejos de ocuparse llanamente de trasmitir una técnica, abren el espacio de expresión y denuncia, significando el vehículo de transmisión de saberes y continuidad del arte del pueblo.
