Abstract

Is there a particular form of stage writing and direction for contemporary shadow theatre? What are the processes involved in creation? What is the director’s role in designing and directing in shadow production? These are some of the questions that are dealt by Fabrizio Montecchi, according to his theatrical practice and his directing work and which falls within the merits of the most characteristic features of the shadow theatre.

Author Biography

Fabrizio Montecchi, Teatro Gioco Vita

É diretor e cenógrafo. Desde 1978 é membro do Teatro Gioco Vita, de Piacenza, teatro com reconhecido prestígio dentro do Teatro de Sombras. É o autor de várias publicações e artigos em revistas especializadas (Un mondo di figura d’ombre, Oltre lo schermo, Der szenische Raum - Schattentheater, Un teatro por le ombre). Atua como professor da École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionette (ESNAM). Como diretor, ele também colaborou com a Dockteatern Tittut de Estocolmo (Kattresan, em 1995, Cirkus Manen, em 1997, Ville vara varg, em 1999, Mera Musik Pappa, em 2003) e com as companhias Huriaruuth e Virea Omena em Helsinque. Recebeu o Prêmio IIM de Transmissão (2013), dedicado à artistas-pedagogos que se destacaram ao longo de sua carreira.
