Abstract

O artigo examina a construção dramatúrgica e cênica do ciclo Os sertões, dirigido por José Celso Martinez Corrêa e realizado no Teatro Oficina a partir do livro de Euclides da Cunha. A abordagem dá especial atenção ao trabalho do Cenógrafo e Diretor de Arte Osvaldo Gabrieli, examinando os materiais utilizados na cena e as formas de usá-los, em associação com a arquitetura do teatro e com os modos coletivos de atuação.

Diretor teatral e Professor da Escola de Teatro e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Cênicas da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO –, sendo também pesquisador do CNPq. Autor do livro Teatro Contemporâneo no Brasil: criações partilhadas e presença diferida (2009).
