Panorama del teatro de títeres en Puerto Rico; pasado, presente y futuro

El teatro ha sido una de las manifestaciones artísticas que más se ha
desarrollado en Puerto Rico, particularmente durante el pasado siglo. Este desarrollo ha ocurrido gracias al esfuerzo y labor de una serie de personas e instituciones que se dieron a la tarea de establecer una tradición teatral en Puerto Rico, entre ellas, el Departamento de Educación de Puerto Rico. El teatro infantil y el teatro de títeres puertorriqueño también emergen a través de estas iniciativas, ya que en Puerto Rico se carecía de esta tradición. El propósito de este artículo es el de trazar el desarrollo histórico del teatro de títeres puertorriqueño desde sus inicios a mediados del pasado siglo hasta el presente.
