El teatro de títeres en Costa Rica hoy

Abstract

El teatro de muñecos en Costa Rica ha pasado épocas brillantes y períodos oscuros. En 1970, surgió la primera generación de teatristas con formación profesional, un irónico aporte de las dictaduras militares sudamericanas, que forzaron al exilio a sus teatristas, y Costa Rica era uno de los pocos países que podía darles un espacio para el ejercicio profesional. En 1968, llegó el argentino Juan Enrique Acuña, que estableció el antes y el después en la profesión. Su trabajo marcó el cambio. 45 años después, la situación ha retrocedido, pero hay un terreno abonado y elementos para que los destellos con que el teatro de muñecos esporádicamente brilla se conviertan en una constante.

Doutor em Educação pela Universidade de La Salle (Bogotá); Mestre em Artes - Direção Teatral, pela New York University; Licenciado em Teatro pela UNA, Bacharel em Filologia Espanhola pela Universidade de Costa Rica (UCR). Diretor e autor de teatro. Ex Decano e professor catedrático aposentado da Faculdade de Artes da Universidade
