Abstract

O Teatro de Bonecos Popular do Nordeste – Mamulengo, Babau, João Redondo
e Cassimiro Coco foi reconhecido oficialmente como Patrimônio Cultural do
Brasil em março de 2015 pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional,
autarquia vinculada ao Ministério da Cultura. O presente artigo busca apresentar quaissão os efeitos deste reconhecimento para os bonequeiros, as diretrizes que orientam apolítica federal de salvaguarda para o patrimônio cultural imaterial e as atribuições doEstado perante esta forma de expressão declarada Patrimônio.

Rívia Ryker Bandeira de Alencar, Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional – IPHAN

Licenciada e Bacharel em Ciências Sociais com habilitação em Antropologia pela Universidade de Brasília (2002). Mestre em Antropologia pela Universidade de Brasília (2005). Doutora em Antropologia Social pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2010). Coordenadora Geral de Salvaguarda. Departamento do Patrimônio Imaterial. Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional. Tem experiência na área de teoria antropológica e atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: análise de rituais, relações raciais, cultura popular, política cultural e políticas de patrimônio.
