Las sombras en la duplicidad del ser o no ser: una visión del mundo

En el marco de una reflexión puramente teórica, el objeto animado –las
sombras y las marionetas-, aparece como el referente ideal de aprehensión del mundo y la forma de representación artística más completa para cuestionar la naturaleza de la realidad. Del ritual al teatro, de lo sagrado a lo religioso, las sombras y las marionetas cruzan los siglos desarrollando, a través de la diversidad de las culturas, unas tradiciones extraordinarias muchas de las cuales son todavía vigentes. Des del Egipto faraónico, pasando por la Mesopotamia, deslumbran las sombras chinescas, las grandes tradiciones de la isla de Bali, de la India y del teatro turco. I, como no, se descubren también la riqueza de las sombras europeas, de sus premisas a sus grandes momentos de esplendor.
