SUJEITO E FRAGMENTAÇÃO: UMA VISÃO DO GÊNERO <br> THE SUBJECT AND FRAGMENTATION: A ‘GENDERED’ PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

Neste trabalho busco explorar a idéia de descentramento ou fragmentação do sujeito, tal como ela aparece nos debates feministas e queer a respeito do gênero e da identidade. Explorando teóricos sociais como Giddens e Bourdieu, e feministas da “segunda onda”, argumento que uma visão do sujeito chamado cartesiano ou unificado empobrece a análise a respeito do gênero, limitando nosso escopo de visão.

Abstract: In this article I explore the idea of the “de-centering” or “fragmentation” of the subject, as it pertains to Gender Studies and Queer Studies. I discuss social theorists such as Pierre Bourdieu and Anthony Giddens, along with Second Wave feminists as well as queer theorists, trying to articulate an argument about how the unified idea of the Cartesian subject impoverishes the analysis and limits our scope in understanding gender.
