– desse conjunto de criaturas que se juntavam em um pavilhão enorme, que era
o átrio da igreja, para experimentar coisas e depois foram se constituindo como
Companhias. Muitos deles, enquanto estavam a fazer essas experimentações,
estavam também dentro de linhas coreográficas de grandes coreógrafos da época.
Eva Karczag por exemplo foi trabalhar com a Trisha Brown, outro grande nome da
dança. Eva, porém, é muito
low profile
e continuou a experimentar. Engraçado que
ela depois acabou por sair da Trisha Brown exatamente porque, sendo uma
coreógrafa incrível, começou a sentir uma coisa que Steve Paxton disse numa
conversa que teve no c.e.m. O Steve comentou sobre essa coisa de estares numa
companhia (ele estava com o Merce Cunninham) e replicar as coreografias, replicar
o repertório e ir perdendo a alegria da descoberta, da invenção e da
experimentação. Eva acabou saindo da Trisha Brown também por conta disso.
Estava um grande
boom
, iam ser todos muito célebres, mas isso não é tudo,
faltava essa parte de poder experimentar. Ela saiu, portanto, dos
highlights
e virou-
se para uma zona, que eu desconfio que é também a zona onde eu habito, mais
low profile
, onde não estamos a pedir as luzes da ribalta. Eu não quero fazer parte
do mercado da dança, não quero fazer parte dos nomes que têm estátuas em
praças públicas, nem nomes de teatros, não quero fazer parte de nada disso.
Mas é muito engraçado porque eu trabalhei com ela quando estive na
European Dance Development Center
(EDDC). Isso por que vamos falar do c.e.m
e assim já te ajuda a ver o que isso seria. Quando eu fui para a EDDC, era em
Arnhem, na altura havia uma outra também em Düsseldorf, mas essa de Arnhem
era mesmo uma potência de experimentação. Foi onde grandes nomes na
experimentação da dança, como Steve Paxton e Simone Forti, foram experimentar.
Havia esse curso longo da
European Dance Development Center
que tinha a ver
exatamente com a experimentação e a investigação. Na altura, a palavra
investigação não era muito utilizada. Mas não era um curso de coreografia, não era
um curso de anatomia, não era um curso daquelas coisas que já vêm em um
pacote. Era um curso para desenvolveres as tuas

dança, movimentos e espacialização. Eu fui para lá no final de [19]80, princípio de
[19]90, fazer um estágio como aluna. Primeira vez na vida em que estava só a
