its analogous cyclicality and communication to the masses. The
universality and variability addressed by authors in journalism align
with the plurality of fashion in its most contemporary sense, with
the development of large-scale products involving all social sectors.
Fashion is also a cultural product capable of conveying messages and
representing various social spheres. The timeliness of newspapers
can be considered the most adherent characteristic of fashion, as
the “principle of the new” (Lipovetsky, 2009; Svendsen, 2010) is a
vital point for the fashion phenomenon, a common relation between
activities. Diusion also resonates in both areas, as dissemination is
fundamental in both journalism and fashion. The propagative nature
of both elds must be considered, playing a relevant role in dening
and contextualizing both (Flores, 2018).

society (Cantú and Gomes, 2023).

materializing culture in society (Hall, 1997; Barnard, 2002; Barthes,
1967). In this uid eld, characterized by diversity and various
manifestation speeds (Bauman, 2000; McCracken, 2008), fashion
assumes a prominent place in culture, as an element of a complex
cultural system (Kaiser, 2019). As a communication element, it
represents more than just dressing or style, dening an entire way of
life and encapsulating meanings and understandings of the world, as
